MLB: Chicago White Sox 7, Chicago Cubs 0

CHICAGO, June 20 (UPI) -- Gavin Floyd combined with three relievers on a four-hit shutout Wednesday in carrying the Chicago White Sox to a 7-0 triumph over the Chicago Cubs.

Floyd (5-7) allowed all four hits over 6 1/3, walking one and striking out four. Matt Thornton, Jesse Crain and Will Ohman finished up with 2 2/3 perfect innings.

The White Sox avoided a sweep at the hands of the Cubs, who have dropped five out of eight.

Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko had RBI singles in the third to open the scoring and the big blow for the White Sox came on Gordon Beckham's three-run homer in the sixth. Beckham also drove in a run with a single in the fourth.

The loss went to Randy Wells (1-2), who made his third start of the season and gave up three runs on five hits with four walks in 3 2/3.
