'S-HERTOGENBOSCH, Netherlands, June 19 (UPI) -- Top-seeded David Ferrer advanced but No. 2-seed Viktor Troicki was beaten Tuesday as the first round wrapped up at the UNICEF Open in the Netherlands.

Ferrer lost his serve just once in a 6-4, 6-4 decision over Pierre-Ludovic Duclos. Ferrer won more than three-quarters of the points on serve. He lost five points on serve in the second set, which included the one game his serve was broken.

Xavier Malisse eliminated Troicki 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 in just more than an hour. Troicki had 11 aces but still landed just 51 percent of his first serves, and Malisse was able to win 53 percent of the points off the second serve.

Malisse dropped a mere nine points in 10 service games.

Edouard Roger-Vasselin ousted seventh-seeded Alex Bogomolov Jr. 6-4, 6-4, but No. 8-seeded Lukasz Kubot routed Dudi Sela 6-1, 6-2. The other first-round match saw Flavio Cipolla, who was up 4-2, advance when Potito Starace retired because of a back injury.
