EASTBOURNE, England, June 18 (UPI) -- Marcos Baghdatis needed just 49 minutes Monday to finish off a first-round win at the AEGON International tennis tournament in England.

Baghdatis crushed eighth-seeded Pablo Andujar 6-1, 6-1. He lost 12 points -- three on double faults -- on serve on the day. Baghdatis finished off five of his eight break-point opportunities over Andujar's seven games serving.

The Baghdatis-Andujar pairing was a rarity in Monday's seven-match card as only one other was decided in two sets. Jamie Baker stopped Donald Young 6-1, 6-4, also in less than an hour.

Ryan Harrison edged past Vasek Pospisil 3-6, 7-6 (7-2), 7-6 (8-6) as Pospisil was eliminated without losing his serve. He did, however, save nine break points.

Marinko Matosevic rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over James Ward, losing his serve just once on day the day. Carlos Berlocq also came from behind in beating Mikhail Kukushkin 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

In other matches, Fabio Fognini beat Albert Ramos 7-6 (7-2), 6-7 (3-7), 6-2 and Jeremy Chardy came away a 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-4) winner over Paul-Henri Mathieu in a 3-hour match.
