MLS: Sporting KC 2, Toronto 0

KANSAS CITY, Kan., June 17 (UPI) -- C.J. Sapong and Julio Cesar each scored Saturday and Sporting Kansas City cruised to a 2-0 victory over hapless Toronto FC.

Sapong gave Sporting (9-3-1) all the offense it would need when he collected a cross from Jacob Peterson that had eluded goalkeeper Doneil Henry and put it in the net in the 18th minute.

Cesar doubled the advantage in the 35th with his first goal of the year, one-timing a Graham Zusi corner kick from just outside the 6-yard box.

The loss dropped Toronto to 1-10-0 despite the debut of Paul Mariner as the Canadian club's new coach.
