ARLINGTON, Texas, June 15 (UPI) -- Yu Darvish struck out a career-high 11 batters over eight innings Friday, boosting the Texas Rangers to a 6-2 win over Houston.

Darvish (8-4) gave up seven hits, but benefited from a five-run fifth inning while helping the Rangers to their fourth win in five games.

Texas trailed 1-0 heading into the fifth, but a throwing error by third baseman Chris Johnson allowed Ian Kinsler to reach first with one out and that opened the door for the Rangers.

Kinsler was the first of seven straight batters to reach base in the inning. Adrian Beltre's RBI single put Texas in front and David Murphy highlighted the inning with a two-run single.

Mitch Moreland added a solo homer for Texas in the eighth.

Jordan Lyles (1-3) was tagged with the loss, giving up eight hits and three earned runs in 4 1/3 innings.
