DENVER, June 14 (UPI) -- Jarrod Parker shut out Colorado for seven innings Thursday and the Oakland A's beat the Rockies 8-2 to finish a three-game sweep in their interleague series.
It was Colorado's eighth straight defeat.
Parker, a 23-year-old rookie, allowed just three hits, struck out six and walked one. He faced the minimum number of batters in four of the seven innings he pitched.
Brandon Moss had a home run and three RBI and Josh Reddick homered for the A's, who pulled off the sweep after getting swept in a three-game set at Arizona.
Oakland carried an 8-0 lead into the bottom of the ninth. Marco Scutaro then homered off reliever Brian Fuentes and Tyler Colvin drove in the second run for the Rockies.
