MEMPHIS, June 9 (UPI) -- Davis Love III, Nick O'Hern and John Merrick ended at 6-under-par 204 Saturday, sharing the lead after three rounds of the St. Jude Classic.

Love, the U.S. Ryder Cup captain, fired a 2-under 68, while O'Hern carded a 67 and Merrick registered a 69 at TPC Southwind.

The trio grabbed the lead thanks to a tough round for reigning U.S. Open champion and world No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who came into the day with a lead at minus-7 but struggled to a 2-over 72 Saturday.

McIlroy dropped into a tie for fourth place with Dustin Johnson (67), Robert Allenby (67), Kevin Kisner (70), Chad Campbell (70) and Kevin Stadler (71) at minus-5.
