DENVER, June 8 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter homered twice and drove in six runs Friday to lead the Los Angeles Angels to a 7-2 victory over Colorado.
Hunter hit two-run blasts in both the third and fifth innings and singled home two more runs during a three-run ninth. He broke out of a prolonged slump that had seen him produce only four hits in his last 14 games, while his batting average dropped from .319 to .238.
Albert Pujols had the only other Los Angeles RBI with his ninth-inning double.
Mike Trout had three hits and scored three runs the Angels, who put together 12 hits to back up C.J. Wilson (7-4), who limited the Rockies to a run on five hits while striking out nine in eight innings.
Alex White (2-4) took the loss, allowing four runs on eight hits in six innings. It was Colorado's third straight setback.
