CINCINNATI, June 6 (UPI) -- A three-run double by Ryan Ludwick helped stake Cincinnati to a five-run lead Wednesday and the Reds held on to edge Pittsburgh 5-4.

Andrew McCutchen hit a three-run blast during Pittsburgh's four-run eighth, but Sean Marshall came on to record the final out of that inning and Aroldis Chapman turned in a perfect ninth for his sixth save.

Johnny Cueto (6-3) earned the win, giving up three runs on six hits.

Brandon Phillips opened the scoring for Cincinnati with a solo homer in the second. Ludwick cleared the bases with his double in the fourth and then scored on a single by Ryan Hanigan.

Brad Lincoln (3-1) gave up five runs on six hits over four innings to suffer the loss.
