Seahawks penalized, lose practices

NEW YORK, June 5 (UPI) -- The Seattle Seahawks must forfeit practice sessions as a penalty for violating the NFL's collective bargaining agreement, the league said Tuesday.

The league's management council and NFL Players Association said in a joint statement the Seahawks held prohibited live-contact drills during organized team activity days in contravention of the CBA.

Thus, the Seahawks will lose scheduled organized team activity practices set for Wednesday and Thursday.

They will also lose an off-season workout day set for Friday.

Under the penalties, Seahawks players won't be permitted to be at the team's facility on those days, but will still be paid for the sessions.
