The right-hander issued three walks and struck out five in the 109-pitch performance.

Miguel Montero and Gerardo Parra each belted two-run homers and Paul Goldschmidt added a solo shot in the victory, the third in four games overall for the D-backs.

Eric Stults (1-2) was tagged for six runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings for the Padres, who fell to an MLB-worst 18-37.
