SAN DIEGO, June 3 (UPI) -- Trevor Cahill
fired a six-hit shutout Sunday and the Arizona Diamondbacks cracked three home runs in their 6-0 win over San Diego.
Cahill (3-5) logged his first victory since May 1, a span of six starts, completing his second career shutout as the Diamondbacks took the rubber match of a three-game series at Petco Field.
The right-hander issued three walks and struck out five in the 109-pitch performance.
Miguel Montero and Gerardo Parra each belted two-run homers and Paul Goldschmidt added a solo shot in the victory, the third in four games overall for the D-backs.
Eric Stults (1-2) was tagged for six runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings for the Padres, who fell to an MLB-worst 18-37.
