SAN DIEGO, June 2 (UPI) -- Gerardo Parra scored the go-ahead run on a seventh-inning balk call Saturday and the Arizona Diamondbacks went on to a 4-2 win over San Diego.
With the score tied 2-2 in the seventh, Parra got aboard on an infield hit with one out and went to third on Willie Bloomquist's single off Joe Thatcher (0-1).
He then was awarded home when Thatcher was called for a balk, putting the D-backs ahead for good.
Arizona scored an insurance run in the eighth when Parra drew a bases-loaded walk from Luke Gregerson and the Diamondbacks evened their three-game series against the Padres.
Daniel Hudson (2-1) earned the victory with eight innings in his second start since returning from a shoulder injury, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five.
Padres starter Edinson Volquez walked five over six innings, allowing two runs on four hits.
