EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., May 24 (UPI) -- The New York Giants announced Thursday receiver Hakeem Nicks broke his right foot during one of the team's off-season organized workouts.

Nicks is to have surgery Friday to have a screw inserted into the broken bone and is expected to need three months to recover.

He had 76 receptions for 1,192 yards and seven touchdowns a year ago, during New York's Super Bowl-winning season. During his three years with the Giants, Nicks has caught 202 passes for 3,034 yards and 24 scores.
