NEW YORK, May 23 (UPI) -- Dexter Pittman and Udonis Haslem of the Miami Heat have been suspended for incidents during a playoff game against Indiana, the NBA said Wednesday.
Pittman, a reserve center, was given a three-game penalty for throwing an elbow into the neck of the Pacers' Lance Stephenson near the end of Miami's 115-83 victory Tuesday in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series.
Referees called Pittman for a second-degree flagrant foul for the hit on Stephenson, who had been seen miming a choking gesture during Game 3 when the Heat's LeBron James missed a free throw.
Haslem drew a one-game suspension for striking the head of Pacers forward Tyler Hansbrough.
Hansbrough drew a flagrant foul for striking the head of the Heat's Dwyane Wade during the Tuesday incident, but escaped league suspension.
Pittman and Haslem will miss Thursday's Game 6 of the series, which Miami leads 3-games-to-2.
