Top-seed Lisicki ousted in Strasbourg

STRASBOURG, France, May 21 (UPI) -- French player Pauline Parmentier scored a 6-4, 6-4 win over top-seeded Sabine Lisicki of Germany Monday at the Strasbourg International tennis event in France.

Among other players advancing was eighth-seeded Tamira Paszek of Austria, a 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 winner over Italian Alberta Brianti.

France's Stephanie Foretz Gacon and Taipe's Su-Wei Hsieh were other winners.

Rain suspended at least two matches in the opening round.

The second seed, Francesca Schiavone of Italy, will play her opening match Tuesday.

The tournament is a warmup for next week's French Open, the year's second Grand Slam.
