ROME, May 20 (UPI) -- Sunday's scheduled Italian Open final between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal was postponed due to rain, tournament officials said in Rome.

The event was pushed forward to Monday after Maria Sharapova had defeated Li Na in the women's final earlier in the day.

That match was delayed about two hours by rain before the start of the third-set tiebreaker.
