MLB: Miami 3, Cleveland 2

CLEVELAND, May 18 (UPI) -- A sacrifice fly by Hanley Ramirez in the eighth inning snapped a tie Friday and boosted Miami to a 3-2 decision over Cleveland.

The Indians took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, but Miami nibbled away and finally went in front in the eighth without the benefit of a hit.

Bryan Petersen drew a leadoff walk in the eighth off Tony Sipp (0-2) and moved to second on a sacrifice by Jose Reyes.

Sipp was replaced on the mound by Joe Smith and Omar Infante promptly hit a ground ball back to the pitcher. Smith, however, committed a throwing error that left runners on the corners. Ramirez followed with his sacrifice fly to center that brought home Petersen with the winning run.

Starter Carlos Zambrano (2-2) survived seven innings to get the win. He allowed two runs on four hits. Heath Bell came on in the ninth and retired the side in order for his fourth save.
