MLB: Atlanta 7, Miami 0

ATLANTA, May 17 (UPI) -- Brandon Beachy threw the first complete game and shutout of his career Thursday and also drove in a run while carrying Atlanta to a 7-0 win over Miami.

The shutout came in the 36th start of Beachy's three-year career, all of it spent with the Braves.

Beachy (5-1) allowed five hits with six strikeouts. He has won four straight decisions since suffering his only loss of the year, April 9 against Houston.

Atlanta's final three runs came in the fifth and Beachy drove in the last of those with a single. It was his fifth career RBI.

Martin Prado delivered a run in the first with a triple and the Braves added two in the third on Freddie Freeman's solo homer and an RBI double from Brian McCann.

Michael Bourn singled in a run in the fourth before the Braves put together their three-run fifth.

Ricky Nolasco (4-2) allowed the first four runs on seven hits over four innings to take the loss.

The Braves won for the fifth time in seven games. Miami had won two in a row.
