Eagles sign McCoy for five more years

PHILADELPHIA, May 17 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles announced Thursday they have signed running back LeSean McCoy to a five-year contract extension.

McCoy set Philadelphia single-season records last year with 17 rushing touchdowns, 20 overall scores and 1,309 rushing yards in 15 games. He added 315 receiving yards.

He gained 637 yards as a rookie in 2009 and has gone past the 1,000-yard mark in each of the last two seasons.

In a 46-game NFL career that includes 32 starts, McCoy has carried the ball for 3,026 yards with 28 rushing touchdowns.
