MEMPHIS, May 13 (UPI) -- Chris Paul put in 19 points Sunday and the Los Angeles Clippers advanced to the Western Conference semifinals with an 82-72 victory over Memphis.

Paul also supplied nine rebounds while Kenyon Martin, Mo Williams and Nick Young came off the bench to combine for 33 points and 12 rebounds as Los Angeles claimed the decisive Game 7 in its conference quarterfinal series against the Grizzlies.

With the win, the Clippers advanced to the second round for only the third time in the franchise's 42-year history and the second time since moving to Los Angeles in 1984.

They now go on to face the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs, beginning Tuesday in San Antonio.

Marc Gasol and Rudy Gay each scored 19 points for Memphis, which rallied to force a seventh contest after going down 3-games-to-1 to start the series.
