MUNICH, Germany, May 6 (UPI) -- German Philipp Kohlschreiber bested Marin Cilic of Croatia in straight sets Sunday, claiming the clay-court BMW Open at Munich.
The fourth-seeded Kohlschreiber dispatched No. 3 Cilic in straight sets, 7-6 (10-8), 6-3, saving seven of the eight break points he faced.
Kohlschreiber, 28 won his fourth career title, and improved to 5-3 lifetime against the Croatian.
Cilic was seeking his seventh championship.
