NEW YORK, May 4 (UPI) -- Orlando swingman Ryan Anderson has been voted the NBA's Most Improved Player for the past season, the league said Friday.
Anderson drew 33 of the 121 possible first-place votes and totaled 260 points. Milwaukee's Ersan Ilyasova and Minnesota's Nikola Pekovic finished second and third, respectively.
Anderson posted career highs of 16.1 points and 7.7 rebounds a game. He led the NBA with three-point goals made (166) and attempted (422).
He scored 10.6 points a game in 2010-10 after averages of 7.4 and 7.7 points a game his first two years in the NBA
He is the fifth member of the Orlando Magic to win the Most Improved Player Award. Scott Skiles won in 1991, Darrell Armstrong in 1999, Tracy McGrady in 2001 and Hedo Turkoglu won four years ago.
