NEW YORK, May 1 (UPI) -- Baltimore's Brian Matusz logged his first victory of 2012 Tuesday, throttling the Yankees on one run over 6 1/3 innings in the Orioles' 7-1 win over New York.
Matusz (1-3) earned the victory in his fifth start, surrendering six hits and only one walk while striking out four as the Orioles evened their three-game set at Yankee Stadium.

Chris Davis went 3-for-4 with a solo homer and three runs scored while J.J. Hardy added a two-run shot for the Orioles.
New York starter Phil Hughes (1-4) absorbed the loss, allowing four runs on four hits over 5 2/3 innings.
Curtis Granderson socked his ninth homer for the Yankees.
