NBA: Denver 131, Minnesota 102

MINNEAPOLIS, April 26 (UPI) -- JaVale McGee was one of seven Denver players in double figures Thursday and the Nuggets roared into the playoffs with a 131-102 victory over Minnesota.

Denver wound up as the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference and that set up a first-round playoff series with the Los Angeles Lakers. Los Angeles will host Game 1 Sunday, having won all five of its previous playoff series against the Nuggets.

The Nuggets built a 19-point halftime lead, McGee finished with 19 points, Arron Affalo added 18 and Danilo Gallinari had 17 for the Nuggets, who closed the regular season 10 games above .500 and shot 63 percent against the Timberwolves.

Minnesota, which will sit out the playoffs for the eighth straight year, was led by J.J. Barea with 20 points.

Denver concluded out the campaign with four straight victories.
