Nashville-Phoenix to open NHL West semis

NEW YORK, April 25 (UPI) -- Phoenix and Nashville will open their NHL Western Conference semifinal series Friday while Los Angeles and St. Louis play Saturday, the NHL said Wednesday.

The West Conference quarterfinals wrapped up Monday when Phoenix eliminated Chicago 4-0 in their Game 6.

Los Angeles beat No. 1-seeded Vancouver in five games while No. 2-seeded St. Louis got by San Jose in five. Nashville was also a 4-1 winner over Detroit in its quarterfinal.

The NHL said Phoenix will play at Nashville Friday and Sunday before moving to Nashville for games May 2 and May 4.

The first two games in St. Louis will be Saturday and Monday with Games 3 and 4 in Los Angeles May 3 and May 6.

The start times are still to be determined.

Also yet to be announced are dates and times for other games in the series if needed.
