ORLANDO, Fla., April 25 (UPI) -- The best game of J.J. Redick's career Wednesday sent Orlando to a 102-95 win over Charlotte that determined the Magic's first-round playoff foe.
Charlotte lost its 22nd straight game and moved within one loss of owning the worst single-season winning percentage in NBA history.
Redick scored 31 points, the largest total of his 6-year career. He hit 6-of-10 3-point attempts and nailed two in a row while Orlando was building a 12-point lead in the fourth period.
Orlando will finish as the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference no matter how it fares against Memphis Thursday. That will set up a first-round playoff matchup with Indiana.
Ryan Anderson had 24 points and 13 rebounds for the Magic.
Charlotte has a 7-58 record with a game remaining Thursday at home against New York. If the Bobcats lose that one, they will finish with a .106 winning percentage. The lowest in league history has been .110, established during the 1972-73 season by Philadelphia.
The 22 straight losses is a Charlotte record. The longest losing streak in the history of the league has been 26, endured by Cleveland last season.
