NEWARK, N.J., April 23 (UPI) -- Elton Brand, Jrue Holiday and Thaddeus Young each scored 15 points Monday and the Philadelphia 76ers beat New Jersey 105-87 to secure a post-season berth.
Young did all of his scoring in the second half for the 76ers, who secured the Eastern Conference's eighth and final playoff spot after a lengthy delay in clinching.
The victory gave Philadelphia its first three-game winning streak since March and assured the Sixers their first winning season since 2004-05.
The Nets fell in their final home game in New Jersey. The franchise is scheduled to begin play next season at its new home in Brooklyn.
They turned in a 9-24 home record in their final season at Newark's Prudential Center.
MarShon Brooks scored 18 points and Kris Humphries added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Nets.
