PORTLAND, Ore., April 22 (UPI) --
An own-goal by Chance Myers Saturday spelled the end to Sporting Kansas City's perfect start to the season with a 1-0 loss to Portland.
Myers was attempting to clear a cross from Portland's Kris Boyd in the 41st minute but inadvertently put it into his own net for the game's only score when he collided with teammate Julio Cesar.
The own-goal snapped Kansas City's seven-game winning streak to begin the season.
Portland improved to 2-4-1 with the victory.
