DETROIT, April 19 (UPI) -- Mike Napoli led a 19-hit attack with his fourth homer in three games Thursday and the Texas Rangers rolled over Detroit 10-3 to open a four-game series.

Texas starter Yu Darvish had what was easily the best of his three appearances in his first big league season. Darvish (2-0), a sensation in Japan before signing with the Rangers, allowed a run on two hits over 6 1/3 with five strikeouts. He worked around five walks.

The Rangers' starting rotation has a combined record of 9-0 with an ERA of 2.37. That performance has brought Texas a seven-game winning streak and an 11-2 record to begin the campaign.

Napoli hit a solo homer in the second to give Texas a 2-0 lead, but the Rangers did not break the game open until they produced a five-run eighth that featured a two-run double by Ian Kinsler.

Michael Young, Nelson Cruz and Yorvit Torrealba all had two RBI as well.

Despite the one-sided nature of the score, the Rangers wasted a host of opportunities, leaving 16 runners on base. Detroit pitching gave up seven walks and a fifth-inning error by second baseman Ramon Santiago led to two unearned runs.

Adam Wilk (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing only two earned runs on 10 hits in four innings.
