MLB: Houston 11, Washington 4

WASHINGTON, April 19 (UPI) -- Brian Bogusevic and Jason Castro combined for six of Houston's 17 hits Thursday, leading an onslaught that gave the Astros an 11-4 win over Washington.

After being limited to five runs in the first three games of the series against the Nationals, Houston broke loose to snap a four-game losing streak.

Five Houston batters had two RBI each to bring Bud Norris his first victory of the season. The Astros scored five times each in the first and sixth innings to turn the game into a rout.

Bogusevic had a two-run triple in the first and Castro finished off the inning with an RBI single. Norris helped his own cause by driving in two runs in the sixth and Jose Altuve had a two-run double in the same inning.

Castro's second RBI came on a seventh-inning single.

Washington cut its deficit to 5-4 in the third on a three-run blast by Ryan Zimmerman, but the second of Houston's big innings broke things open.

Norris (1-0) went six innings while giving up four runs on 10 hits with six strikeouts. The loss went to Edwin Jackson (1-1), who surrendered five runs on seven hits in five frames. Tom Gorzelanny was charged with the other six Houston runs.
