NEW YORK, April 16 (UPI) -- The National Hockey League fined Ottawa $10,000 and Senators forward Zenon Konopka $2,500 Monday.
Konopka and the team got in trouble with the league because of his verbal abuse toward a New York Rangers player who was conducting a live televised interview during warm-ups before their Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.
The fine against the 31-year-old player was the maximum allowable.
