NBA: Sacramento 104, Portland 103

April 15, 2012 at 9:15 PM

SACRAMENTO, April 15 (UPI) -- Marcus Thornton drained a 17-foot jump shot with 3.4 seconds left and the Sacramento Kings used the clutch basket to edge Portland 104-103 Sunday.

The winning shot came only 2 seconds after the Trail Blazers' Wesley Matthews had connected on a 3-pointer to give Portland a 103-101 advantage.

Thornton and Tyreke Evans each finished with 20 points and DeMarcus Cousins contributed 23 and seven rebounds as the Kings broke a seven-game losing streak.

Matthews ended with 31 points -- including eight 3-pointers -- but the Blazers still lost for the fourth time in five contests.
