MLB: Seattle 4, Oakland 0

SEATTLE, April 15 (UPI) -- Hector Noesi fired eight shutout innings and Jesus Montero drove in three runs Saturday, powering the Seattle Mariners to a 4-0 win over Oakland.

Noesi (1-1) pitched a career-high eight innings, yielding five hits while striking out six.

Montero -- who came with Noesi in an off-season trade with the New York Yankees for pitcher Michael Pineda -- belted a solo homer and added a two-run double while stretching his hitting streak to eight games.

The win was just the second in six games for Seattle.

Oakland starter Tommy Milone (1-1) yielded four runs on four hits over six innings.
