MLS: Chivas USA 1, Toronto FC 0

April 14, 2012 at 8:50 PM

TORONTO, April 14 (UPI) -- Oswaldo Minda notched the game's only goal in the 31st minute Saturday and Chivas USA held on to prevail over Toronto FC 1-0.

Minda scored after heading a corner kick from Miller Bolanos inside the near post for Chivas (3-3-0).

The Goats defended their lead the rest of the way, but Toronto put on some late pressure.

Eric Avila nearly set up Ryan Johnson for the equalizer with a right-wing cross that Johnson got a head on but missed by inches.

TFC (0-5-0) set a team record by losing for a fifth straight time -- the worst start to a season in franchise history.
