April 14, 2012 at 4:39 PM

NEW YORK, April 14 (UPI) -- C.J. Wilson tossed six strong innings Saturday and the Los Angeles Angeles humbled the New York Yankees 7-1.

Wilson (2-0) held the Yankees to one run on six hits over six frames, walking two and striking out two en route to the victory, his second in two starts since agreeing to five-year, $77.5 million deal with Los Angeles in December.

Howie Kendrick went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer while Chris Iannetta added a two-run blast and Vernon Wells chipped in with a solo shot for the Angels, who evened their three-game set in New York.

Yankees starter Phil Hughes (0-2) was raked for six runs on eight hits over 3 1/3 innings.

Robinson Cano drove in New York's only run.
