April 14, 2012 at 10:58 PM   |   Comments

ATLANTA, April 14 (UPI) -- Mike Minor shut Milwaukee down on just one unearned run over 7 1/3 innings Saturday, sparking the Atlanta Braves to a 2-1 decision over the Brewers.

Minor (1-1) issued only one walk and struck out four for the Braves, who won their fourth straight after stumbling to an 0-4 start.

Atlanta, however, had to hang on for the victory. Jonny Venters worked out of an eighth-inning jam while Craig Kimbrel loaded the bases in the ninth before claiming his fourth save of the year.

Brewers starter Shaun Marcum (1-1) yielded three hits and two runs over seven innings, walking two and fanning six.
