KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, April 13 (UPI) -- Hennie Otto had a bogey-free 8-under-par 64 Friday and is tied with Jbe Kruger for the lead of the European Tour's Maybank Malaysian Open.

Otto's round, which included five birdies in the second nine, was completed before storms arrived in Kuala Lumpur. The threat of lightning led organizers to suspend second-round play with about half the field on the course.

Among those with the second round to finish Saturday morning is first-round leader Charl Schwartzel, who is 3-over after 12 holes of his second round. Schwartzel is 5-under for the tournament.

Otto and Kruger are at 9-under after 36 holes. Kruger, who had a pair of double bogeys Thursday, had eight birdies and one bogey in the second round for a 65.

Masters runner-up Louis Oosthuizen, who was second after the first round, is 2-under after 12 holes in the second. He is 8-under for the event.

Martin Kaymer and David Lipsky, who each shot 5-under 67 in the second round, and Stephen Gallacher, who is 2-under through 11 holes in the second round, are tied at 7-under for the tournament.

Otto had birdies on all four of the par 5s at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club and closed with four birdies in his last six holes.

Kruger was 5-under in the round when he had a bogey at the par-5 third hole -- his 12th of the day. He posted back-to-back birdies at 4 and 5 and caught Otto with a birdie at No. 7.
