NBA: Phoenix 112, Houston 105

HOUSTON, April 13 (UPI) -- Marcin Gortat led Phoenix to as much as a 17-point advantage in the fourth quarter Friday and the Suns held on down the stretch to defeat Houston 112-105.

The Suns enhanced their playoff chances, moving within a game of Houston for the last post-season spot in the Western Conference.

Gortat scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds while the Suns were handing the Rockets just their 10th home loss of the campaign. Phoenix has won six out of eight.

Jared Dudley added 19 points for the Suns and Steve Nash had 18 to go with 10 assists.

The Rockets were paced by 22 points from Goran Dragic and 21 from Luis Scola.
