MLB: Washington 3, Cincinnati 2 (10 inn.)

WASHINGTON, April 12 (UPI) -- Ryan Zimmerman scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning Thursday, giving the Washington Nationals a 3-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Zimmerman was hit by a pitch from Alfredo Simon (0-1) to open the 10th and advanced to second on a Jayson Werth single one out later.

Both runners moved up on an infield out. Simon's second pitch to Roger Bernadina was low and inside and got away from catcher Devin Mesoraco, allowing Zimmerman to score.

Craig Stanman (1-0), who struck out the three batters he faced in the top of the 10th, got the win.

The Nationals led 2-0 and their pitchers had a three-hitter going into the ninth only to have closer Brad Lidge get touched for two runs. Cincinnati's Ryan Ludwick singled in the runs.

Washington loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth but the Reds turned a pitcher-catcher-first double play to end the threat.

The Nationals went up 2-0 in the fifth when Adam LaRoche delivered a bases-loaded, two-out single.
