NBA: LA Clippers 100, Oklahoma City 98

OKLAHOMA CITY, April 11 (UPI) -- Chris Paul scored on a layup with 8.8 seconds to play Wednesday, bringing the Los Angeles Clippers a 100-98 decision over Oklahoma City.

The Thunder suffered only their sixth home loss of the season, falling victim to a big fourth quarter from Paul. He scored 11 of his 31 points in the final period and kept the Clippers within 1 1/2 games of the Los Angeles Lakers for the lead in the Pacific Division.

Kevin Durant tied it for the Thunder on a 3-pointer with 36 seconds left. After Paul hit his layup, Durant tried to win it with another 3-point try, but it bounced off the rim.

Oklahoma City maintained a one-game lead over San Antonio for the best record in the Western Conference when the Spurs lost at home to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Blake Griffin had 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Clippers, who have won nine of their last 11.

Durant scored 22 points and Russell Westbrook had 20 for Oklahoma City.
