Fatherhood for Derrick Rose

CHICAGO, April 10 (UPI) -- Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls is about to be a father, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday.

Rose, 23, and his girlfriend of nearly four years, Mieka Blackman Reese, 24, a stylist, are expecting a child in October, the newspaper said, adding that "mutual families are excited and looking forward to the baby's arrival."

Rose returned Sunday to the Bulls lineup in a 100-99 overtime loss to the New York Knicks, after missing 12 games due to injury. He has not offered a statement about the impending fatherhood.
