Sapp recently filed bankruptcy papers in Florida claiming he no longer had his Tampa Bay Super Bowl ring or the ring he received for playing on the 1999 national champion University of Miami team.
"That ring didn't make me a champion, my team and I did," Sapp told TMZ.com.
Sapp said he believed his Super Bowl ring disappeared on a trip a few yeas ago, and has no idea where his college ring could be. He added he rarely wore the baubles and wasn't too upset about their disappearance.
The Hurricanes ring, Sapp told TMZ.com, wasn't even particularly valuable beyond the sentimental aspect. "It was 10 carats of cubic zirconia and yellow gold," he said. "It might be worth $300."
