ROQUEBRUNE-CAP-MARTIN, France, April 7 (UPI) -- Mike and Bob Bryan won their Davis Cup doubles match Saturday to give the United States a 2-1 lead in their quarterfinal series against France.

The Bryans improved to 17-2 in Davis Cup doubles competition by knocking off the French team of Michael Llodra and Julien Benneteau 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

The win puts the Unites States one point away from the semifinals. The Americans can clinch the victory Sunday when John Isner faces Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in reverse-singles play.

The Bryans broke the Frenchmen's serve only once in the first and second sets but won four consecutive points in the tiebreaker of the third set en route to the win.
