MLS: Sporting KC 1, Los Angeles 0

KANSAS CITY, Kan., April 7 (UPI) -- Kei Kamara's goal in the 40th minute was the game's only score and Sporting Kansas City stayed perfect with a 1-0 win over Los Angeles Saturday.

On the scoring play, Bobby Convey delivered a cross toward the box where Kamara got behind defender Sean Franklin, dove and headed the ball just inside the right post.

Kansas City (5-0-0) used the tally to continue the best start for any MLS team since 1998, while racking up four shutouts in its five victories to begin the season.

The Galaxy (1-3-0) saw the return of Landon Donovan from a quadriceps injury, but they were without captain David Beckham, who missed the game with a series of minor injuries.
