NHL: New Jersey 3, New York Islanders 1

NEWARK, N.J., April 3 (UPI) -- Patrik Elias notched goal and an assist Tuesday and the New Jersey Devils tuned up for the playoffs with a 3-1 win over the New York Islanders.

Travis Zajac registered the go-ahead goal 22 seconds into the second period and Ilya Kovalchuk also scored for the Devils, who have won four straight.

Johan Hedberg stopped 19 shots for New Jersey, which holds the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with 98 points.

Matt Moulson scored and Al Montoya turned aside 17-of-19 shots for the Islanders.
