NHL: Chicago 5, Nashville 4

NASHVILLE, March 31 (UPI) -- Chicago's Brent Seabrook put in the go-ahead goal in the third period Saturday and the Blackhawks secured a playoff spot with a 5-4 win over Nashville.

The Hawks defenseman also added an assist. Patrick Kane contributed a goal and an assist as well for Chicago, which improved to 97 points and locked up a fourth straight postseason appearance.

Dave Bolland, Viktor Stalberg and Patrick Sharp also scored for the Blackhawks, who pulled into a tie with idle Detroit for the Western Conferences' fifth seed.

Shea Weber scored twice and Pekka Rinne made 32 saves for the Predators, who hold a one-point lead over Chicago and Detroit in the race for the West's fourth seed.

Alexander Radulov and Martin Erat also scored in the Predators' loss.
