ST. LOUIS, March 27 (UPI) -- Brian Elliot notched a third straight shutout, making 24 saves for St. Louis in the Blues' 3-0 win over Nashville in a meeting of Western Conference powers.

Elliot's whitewash was his ninth of the season, giving him the NHL lead over Jonathan Quick of Los Angeles and the New York Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist.

Elliott set a club record, going 186 minutes, 33 seconds, without allowing a goal.

David Perron, T.J. Oshie and Jamie Langenbrunner scored as St. Louis raised its home record to 30-4-4 and racked up its 105th point -- two better than the Rangers for the NHL's best record.

Pekka Rinne took the loss, yielding three goals on 24 shots.

Nashville's lead over Chicago for the West's fifth seed decreased to three points with the loss.
