NHL: Florida 3, Montreal 2 (SO)

MONTREAL, March 27 (UPI) -- Wojtek Wolski scored in the first round of a shootout Tuesday, handing the Southeast Division-leading Florida Panthers a 3-2 decision over Montreal.

Wolski faked to the right and then switched to a left-side backhander, putting the puck past Carey Price and boosting Florida to its 89th point of the season.

Coupled with Washington's loss to Buffalo Tuesday, the Panthers upped their divisional lead over the Capitals to five points.

Florida also holds the third seed in the Eastern Conference.

Wolski also netted a regulation goal, as did Mikael Samuelsson, and Scott Clemmensen made 27 saves to record the victory.

Louis Leblanc and Erik Cole found the net while Price finished with 34 saves for the Canadiens.
