WINNIPEG, Manitoba, March 26 (UPI) -- Daniel Alfredsson's second goal of the game, late in the third period, proved to be the game-winner Monday in the Ottawa Senators' 6-4 victory over Winnipeg.

Alfredsson scored with 2:33 to play in regulation, breaking a 4-4 tie and sending the Senators to their second straight win.

Kyle Turris had a goal and an assist while Chris Neil, Milan Michalek and Kaspars Daugavins all scored goals for the Senators.

Craig Anderson earned the victory with 44 saves as Ottawa, seeded seventh in the Eastern Conference, pulled to within three points of first-place Boston in the Northeast Division.

Winnipeg saw its fading playoff hopes dim further with its fourth loss in five games.

Antti Miettinen notched a pair of goals and Ondrej Pavelec made 29 saves for the Jets.
