DALLAS, March 24 (UPI) -- Kari Lehtonen turned aside 35-of-36 shots and Jamie Benn scored twice Saturday in the Dallas Stars' 4-1 victory over Calgary.

Lehtonen stopped all 15 shots he saw in the third period as the Stars scored twice to put the game away, improving to 31-17-4 on the season.

Benn opened the scoring with a goal only 1:37 into the game and added another tally late in the final frame for Dallas, which came into the game one point behind Los Angeles and Phoenix for the Pacific Division lead.

Michael Ryder also found the net and Brendan Morrow added an empty-netter as the Stars opened a home-and-home series against the Flames with a victory.

Michael Cammalleri scored and Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 16 shots for Calgary, which remained in 11th place in the West, two points out of the eighth and final playoff spot with six games remaining.
